OK, for real this time.

Inspired by Heather's duck movies, I promise to post regularly from now on. In fact I even have an exciting movie of my own to post sometime today...

Sorry to disappoint but the dissection wasn't really all that bad. To save time the skulls had already been cut and 1/2 the vertebra removed. The only funny moment was scooping out the entire brain from the brain pan, when it felt like we were about to perform a brain transplant a la some bad 50's science fiction flick. Classes are still in introductory mode, but this quarter will definitely be more work than the last.

Cadavers and more

Well, I unfortunately did not place out of Immunology, but if I'm paying so much tuition I might as well take all of the classes I possibly can. Head and neck anatomy is coming up this afternoon, and we'll start by removing the hoods and sawing open the brain case. For most people it's the most gruesome and upsetting day of the entire class, I'll let you know how it goes...

Gotta start somewhere,

and why not the second quarter of medical school? The first was admittedly a little bit of a disapointment because at least half of the material was redundant to grad school and undergrad. A few bouts of incoherent lecturing by some certain professors (who shall remain nameless) didn't help anythin. Though we haven't yet learned how to save any actual lives, anatomy was a blast and I might be able to tell if there was fluid in your lungs. Comforting, no? This morning I took an exam to place out of immunology (I'll find out about that sometime soon) but otherwise I'm taking,

Principles Of Medicine (i.e. POM, doctoring for dummies)
Neuroscience
Immunology
Anatomy of the Head, Neck, and Brain
and ...
Intro to Human Health and Development (pharmacology, pathology, and physiology all wrapped up in one disorganized class)
